Imagine Pools and Waterscapes is a new company in the Okanagan Valley, specializing in the design and construction of vinyl swimming pools and waterscapes. The company is owned and operated by Ron Yavis and his wife Katie. Ron Yavis is in charge of designing, marketing, selling and supervising all projects from idea stage to project completion, in a “hands on capacity”. He has spent the last 28 years plus in the Pool industry involved in all aspects of the business. His experience includes, labourer, trainer, sales person, manager, designer, general contractor and project estimator. Ron specializes in the custom design and construction of residential swimming pools and renovations. Ron is also a specialist in custom liner measurement and takes great care to ensure an exact fit which extends the life of the liner to it’s maximum potential. Ron has worked with a successful Pool Company in Kelowna, B.C. for the past eight years, setting up and managing the pool sales and construction division. His pool designs have won numerous national awards and have been featured in National and International magazines such as Pool and Spa Marketing magazine of Canada and Watershapes, a California based magazine. Imagine Pools is a “Totally Hayward” dealer, a BioGuard dealer and a member of the Pool and Hot Tub Council of Canada.

Since starting his own business in 2004, Ron has won a Silver award at the “Pool and Hot Tub Council Awards” in Toronto for “Automatic Pool Cover Design & Installations” and in 2005, his very own Show Pool was honored with a Gold Medal, winning “Best Family Recreational Center” in Canada at the Pool and Hot Tub Council awards held in Toronto. The Show Pool has also been recognized as an Emerald Award winner for “The Ultimate Backyard” at the “Art of Water Awards” for Canada, also held in Toronto. These awards have been recognized in National and International Magazines, such as “Pool & Spa Marketing”, “Pools Spas & Patios”, “BC Homes”, and “Kelowna Homes”. Ron was nominated for “Best new Business of the Year” and “Entrepreneur of the Year” in the 2006 Annual Business Excellence Awards"; for the Greater Vernon Chamber or Commerce. Ron won “Entrepreneur of the Year” at the Business Excellence awards.

The Company provides sales in above ground and vinyl in-ground pool kits, custom vinyl liners, pool equipment, accessories, chemicals, renovations, pool maintenance and spas/hot tubs. This versatile company also offers a “Do it Yourself” consultation program and a mobile pool building vehicle that will travel to locations others may not venture. Along with the basic services as outlined above, Imagine Pools will general contract a backyard project from conception to creation, as required by the consumer.

The onsite Project Manager/Chief Pool Builder, Jordan, works closely with Ron and follows his lead to manage the pool crews in an efficient, professional and quality centred manner. The pool crews are led by Jordan Yavis, Ron’s oldest son, who has 9 years of experience in the Pool and Spa Industry. Jordan’s specialties include pool liner installations, maintenance, carpentry and renovations. He is a qualified water analysis specialist and is very knowledgeable about all your maintenance issues and water quality problems. Braden Robertson is the newest member of Team Imagine bringing with him a strong work ethic and knowledge of the construction industry. Braden has spent the last 11 years working in construction as a Journeyman Carpenter. He is continuing the family atmosphere of Imagine as he is married to Ron and Katie’s oldest daughter.

With the addition of Braden to the team, Imagine Pools has now diversified into providing their clients with additional options in the backyard including, cabanas, decks, retaining walls, fencing and equipment sheds.

Ron’s wife, Katie takes on the role of Secretary of the company and is directly involved in the management of the office and control of the finances of the company. Her 29 years of experience in the Commercial Banking Industry is an asset to the financial management of Imagine Pools and Waterscapes Ltd. and her attention to detail and customer service compliments the overall concept of this service oriented business.

Imagine Pools and Waterscapes strives to keep quality control a first priority along with efficiency in production and completion. This allows a comfort level for the client, which is backed by a 15 year workmanship warranty with a 25 year extended warranty available. Imagine Pools works diligently at maintaining a reputation of integrity, quality workmanship and approachable management.

The owner is involved in community organizations, such as Vernon Minor Hockey, and is the President of the Pool and Hot Tub Council of Canada for the Central BC. Region. He is a pillar of the community; Ron has recently been awarded with the prestigious award of Vernon Chamber of Commerce “Entrepreneur of the Year”. Supporting minor sports in his hometown of Vernon, B.C. Ron and Katie are Gold sponsors of the Vernon Vipers, a B.C.J.H.L. hockey club, Mixed and Lady’s Slo Pitch Ball teams, Vernon Minor Hockey. His wife is a member of a Provincial Gold and Silver Medal winning Synchronized Figure Skating team, as well as being on the executive board of Vernon Women’s Slo-pitch.
